Your information

Privacy Policy

This explains how AJÉ handles member information, community content, location, event reminders, payments and AI-assisted questions.

Effective and last updated: November 1, 2026

1. Who operates this service and how to reach us

AJÉ (“we”, “our”) provides a cultural community, Knowledge library, Oracle, calendar and marketplace. You can contact our team, including for privacy rights requests, through our publicly accessible Support & Privacy Request form. We will use the contact information you submit only to handle that request and related follow-up.

2. Information you provide

We process account details such as email, authentication information, profile name and username; optional profile photos, city, state/region, country, professional and contact details; and content you create, including posts, comments, messages, uploads, Marketplace listings, event RSVPs, verification submissions, suggestions and reports.

Optional religious or cultural details are sensitive. You may choose to enter your tradition, spiritual lineage, crowned Orisha, initiation milestones or titles. You do not need to provide these to use the community. Only share details you are comfortable recording or publishing, and use the profile-visibility controls in Settings.

3. Location and device permissions

AJÉ may use the city, region and country you type to help connect nearby members and events. Precise device location is requested only when you choose the location action and grant your device's permission; you may instead enter your location manually. When you permit location capture, coordinates may be stored with your account for app functionality. Profile visibility settings control what members see in the interface, and we restrict direct access to stored coordinates.

You can disable device location permission in your device settings and remove or update saved location details in AJÉ. Turning off location sharing does not automatically delete an earlier city or region you entered.

4. How we use information

We use information to create and secure accounts, provide the social feed and direct messages, operate the Knowledge library and Oracle, run marketplace and event features, process memberships, handle reports and requests, deliver opted-in reminders, detect misuse and improve reliability. AJÉ records page views, feature interactions, visit/session identifiers, approximate device type, and foreground activity heartbeats to understand app reliability and popularity. The administrative Analytics dashboard can show which signed-in members have recently been active, their current app section, and grouped activity trends. An online indicator is approximate and times out when activity stops. You may separately opt in, under Settings → Privacy, to an administrator-only individual usage report containing pages and content visited, session and reading-time estimates, and measured playback time for AJÉ-hosted videos and Reels. Such reports are limited to activity recorded after your opt-in and can be disabled at any time. Exact community Search phrases are recorded and shown with your account only after a second, separate opt-in; search phrases can reveal spiritual or personal interests. External embedded videos do not provide reliable individual playback timing. Private message text, Oracle questions and precise location are excluded from this dashboard. Operational analytics and technical logs may also include technical device/browser details and error information.

5. AI Oracle

When you ask the Oracle a question, your question and relevant library passages may be sent to AI service providers to generate a response. Content you submit to AJÉ (including posts, captions, photos and comments) may also be checked by automated moderation services and, where needed, reviewed by authorized moderators before other members can see it. The current implementation uses AI model services, including Google Gemini via the app's integrations. AI responses may be inaccurate or reflect different cultural traditions. Avoid entering passwords, financial information, confidential rituals, or anyone else's sensitive personal information into the Oracle.

6. Sharing with others and service providers

Information you publish on public profiles, feeds, comments, events or listings can be seen by other eligible members and may be copied by recipients. Direct messages are intended for participants, subject to moderation, lawful requests and necessary service operations.

We use hosting and database infrastructure supplied through Base44, authentication and integration services, payment-processing services through Wix Payments for subscriptions, and providers that deliver email, push messages and AI processing. These services receive only data reasonably necessary for their functions, subject to their own applicable terms and safeguards. We do not claim that information is never disclosed: legal obligations and safety investigations may require disclosure.

7. Payments and subscriptions

AJÉ offers optional paid access to Knowledge and the Oracle. Payment checkout is handled by a payment provider rather than by the community feed. We may receive transaction details such as a purchase identifier, payment status, subscription status and buyer email; the payment provider handles the payment method information. See our Billing & Cancellation Policy.

8. Notifications and event reminders

Member activity can produce in-app notifications. AJÉ may also send optional in-app news about new features and app reminders, which you can turn off in Settings. Daily affirmations, encouragement, and reflective advice require an explicit opt-in, and you can unsubscribe any time. Optional push alerts for these AJÉ broadcasts require a separate opt-in as well as device permission. Event email and push reminders are sent only to people who RSVP and opt in to those reminder channels; reminder preferences can be changed or an RSVP canceled. Essential account, security or safety notices may still be communicated when necessary.

9. Cookies and similar technology

AJÉ uses session, authentication, settings and similar browser/device storage so you can remain signed in and the service can work. Third-party infrastructure may process technical request information. Where separate consent is legally required for optional tracking or advertising, that activity must not be enabled without it; this notice does not itself authorize cross-app tracking.

10. Data retention and deletion

Account and community information is generally retained while an account is active and for as long as needed for the purposes described here. Use Settings → Delete Account to request account and associated content removal. Some limited records may need to be retained for billing, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or system backups; independent copies made by other people may remain outside AJÉ's control. We do not guarantee instant deletion from every third-party backup.

11. Your privacy choices and rights

You may edit or remove optional profile details, change profile discovery and messaging preferences, manage notifications, and delete your account. Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, obtain, object to or request deletion of personal information. Submit a Privacy Request if you cannot complete a request in settings. We may verify your identity before acting on requests involving private records.

12. Children, security and changes

AJÉ currently requires members to be 18 years old or older. Registration and sign-in require an age affirmation. We do not intentionally collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that a minor has created an account, contact our support team so the account can be reviewed and removed in accordance with applicable law. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, but no online service can promise absolute security. Material policy changes will be reflected by an updated date and, when appropriate, an in-app notice.
